DON'T MISS THIS OPPORTUNITY TO SEE A REAL FOLK/ROCK LEGEND. This is only the second time that I know of that Tom Pacheco, from Woodstock, NY has come to the metroplex. Do not miss this chance to see him.

"Tom Pacheco deserves to be mentioned in the same tones of reverence as John Prine, Townes Van Zant, Guy Clark and Steve Earl...Tom Pacheco is one of the most impressive singer/songwriters of our times." - Hugh Gregory, Folk Roots

In his 40+ years as a professional songwriter, Tom has issued 23 LPs and CDs. His songs have been recorded by Richie Havens, The Jefferson Starship, The Band, Rick Danko, Norwegian superstar Steiner Albrigtson, and others.

He was one of 4 people asked to perform at Pete Seeger's 90th birthday party at Madison Square Garden. He also kicked off several of Obama's campaign stops with a song the president requested and then introduced the president to the campaign audience. If you appreciate music history please read the lengthy narrative by clicking here. There some good Dylan and Hendrix stories in the narrative as well.

"I wish I could live in a world where I would never have to write a dark song again. But, I'd have to be an ostrich, burying my head in the sand to avoid a nightmarish tornado. Till the last breath I breathe in the real world, I expect to be out there on the barricades, fighting and hoping for a rebel spring to bring a resurrection of the ideals and dignity of a true yearning for freedom deeper than the symbols meant to represent it and a kindness and wisdom of spirit to serve as a beacon to a world tortured by cruelty and deception. I love my country too much to do anything less." - Tom Pacheco (from a short story about a dream he had)

If there is a performer today that embodies the oft-applied and rarely understood moniker of "songwriter's songwriter" it's Houston favorite, Matt Harlan. With songs that are already well known in many circles Harlan's studio work is just beginning to make its mark with his debut studio release, "Tips & Compliments".

Born and raised in Texas, Harlan soaked up the richness of the state and its song-smiths while bouncing between its big cities and small towns. On his debut, Harlan exposes this range of influences, interpreting a generation steeped in plastic yet filtered through the Hill Country limestone. His expressive vocals recall Chris Smither and Chris Knight, shading his poignant songs with soaring heart and aching grit.

Matt's songwriting has been getting some recognition lately with awards from the Billboard World Songwriting Contest, American Songwriter Magazine, the Wildflower Arts & Music Festival, Snowbird Mountain Music Festival and as a Regional New Folk winner at Kerrville.
